Wag the Dog Vacation

With all the twittering and Facebooking (yes, they are now verbs!) that is going on, people love to live their lives in front of everyone...

While I was tweeting from the sand dunes of Western Michigan, I had a thought. The next vacation I go on will be completely virtual. I'm going to snag images from Google and post them to my Twitter and FB account, throw in some pics of the kids standing in front of some obscure object and call it a landmark. I might even go so far as to use a green screen and photoshop. Then, I'll watch the comments come pouring in about how people wished they were vacationing where we were and how they had such a good time the last time they were there! After a couple of days, I'll compile all the pictures into a nice slide show, add some music and post it to our blog. This should wrap it up nicely and prove we were really there.

Hey if they can spin a war, I should be able to spin a vacation!

Bye May, Hello June...

School is out. "Camp" is right around the corner. VBS is right on the tail of Camp. Where did May go?

I realized that I hadn't posted anything for the month of May. So here goes...

This is a neat little opera Jenny found on the net. If you don't like Star Trek you probably won't understand it.

BTW, the new ST movie is GREAT!

JellyTelly

Phil Vischer, the creator of Veggie Tales, has a fairly new site for kids (and parents) called JellyTelly. It's loaded with some pretty cool stuff.
Jenny and I had the opportunity to attend a seminar last month in Chicago where he was the keynote speaker. Phil has some really good insight into media and our kids. He made a comment about the church having about 1 hour a week with your kid, but Disney and Nickelodeon having, on average, 20 hours a week. WOW!
Phil wanted to create something that would entertain, yet still have a Christian theme.

Check out JellyTelly when you have a few minutes.

Oh, and for all you aspiring film makers, Phil is looking for content for the site.

Check out the website, you'll probably get a chuckle.

Facebook vs. Blogger

VS

Sounds like the newest sci-fi movie, huh?

I've noticed over the last several months that the blogs I follow have been growing out dated, including this one. I've found my self Twitting, and FB'ing more and more. Which has resulted in it taking on the look of the Munsters house.

We will try and keep you all up to date through the blog as things come up. I'm not ready to go 100% Facebook...yet.

Ok, gotta run...need to check my FB. :)
